It was amazing to drive through the mountains and look over the edges of cliffs on the way to Hoover Dam. And the dam itself is so huge! It doesn't matter how many photos of it you see, you cannot be prepared for its massive size. And looking straight down from the top is a sight you can't miss.

| Lake Mead |

| This is the body of water held back by the dam. (It's 120 miles long!) |
Lake Mead is the most beautiful blue color. Apparently, the white areas at the bottom of the surrounding rock show how high the lake used to be. Within the next decade it is estimated that there will be a severe water shortage in Las Vegas and areas of California and Arizona.
